Things didn’t quite work out for Jonathan Waxman over at Ghirardelli Square. Seems his recently opened chicken spot JBIRD has closed, and the restaurant WAXMAN’S will not reopen after all.
Meanwhile, over in Noe Valley, CASKHOUSE (3853 24th St.) has closed, and owner John Dampeer is now focusing all his attention on his newer bar and restaurant, HAMLET (1199 Church St. at 24th St.).
A reader let me know that after five years of taking care of surfers, day-trippers, beachgoers, and fire pit-lovin’ locals, the SURF SPOT in Pacifica has closed. 4627 Coast Hwy. 1, Pacifica, 877-625-2929.
