Suggestions by tablehopper readers:
Some good chocolate desserts coming out of Local Mission Eatery’s kitchen lately.
It might be a tie between the Chocolate Custard Tart at Spruce, and the Chocolate Budino Tart at A16. Chocolate + Salt = Heaven.
A few of my favs are: Profiteroles at Delfina, Chocolate Pot de Creme from Slow Club, Dark Chocolate Mousse cake from Tartine, Old Fashioned Cupcakes from Miette (they make it into a mini cake form).
My favorite chocolate dessert in SF is Bacon Crack, sold at Precita Park Cafe (among other places) and made by Nosh This.
Cable Car Chocolate frozen yogurt (made from Ghiardelli cocoa) at Michaelis’ Wine and Spirits Shop and Cafe Jacqueline’s chocolate souffle.
Cafe Jacqueline…the best chocolate souffle, EVER!
One Market’s chocolate toffee almond crunch cake
My favorite chocolate dessert is always a “favorite of the moment,” and my most recent favorite is the chocolate pot de creme at Company Restaurant, Guerrero and 22nd St.
Black and Tan at Jasper’s.
Favorite SF chocolate dessert is dark chocolate sorbetto bar by Guittard/Naia.
Chocolate caramel tart from Dandelion chocolate! I also love the devil’s food brownie from Batter Bakery.
Miette’s chocolate pot de creme.
Chocolate soufflé at Roy’s and the complimentary chocolate truffles that accompany every meal at Butler & the Chef. :)
Pot de creme with scotch pairings at Absinthe. It must have the scotch pairings as you miss out on the complexities of the chocolate (which they’ve made into a delectably smooth creme) if you aren’t contrasting it with the complexities of their scotch choices as well.
Chocolate Orange at Hakkasan.
Loved the Chocolate Pot de Creme at 1550 Hyde and so sad it’s gone. I also love the chocolate spice donut from Dynamo.
Chocolate sundae at Ghirardelli.
Chocolate cookie at Mission Beach Café.
Chocolate cake at Boulevard.
