Tomorrow night, on October 20th, the ~MONK’S KETTLE~ will host Abita Brewing Co. for a benefit for the Gulf Coast, featuring S.O.S. (Save Our Shores) Pilsner, a beer created to fund a charity for those affected by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The Louisiana-inspired menu for the night will feature four beers (Jockamo IPA and Andygator on tap, the S.O.S. in the bottle, and glasses of Abbey Ale served from the bottle), all paired with stuffed peppers, New Orleans-inspired gumbo, cassoulet, and crawfish and andouille pot pie (yeah, you better come hungry!). Abita Brewing Co. is donating 75 cents of every bottle sold to a charitable foundation to aid people affected by the disaster, as well as wildlife and environmental restoration. The Monk’s Kettle will additionally be donating half the day’s Abita sales to charity.

Upcoming beer-pairing dinners include Mark Ruedrich of North Coast Brewing Company on November 3rd, and on December 1st, Brian Hunt of Moonlight Brewing.
