Boozy Time: Botanical Cocktail Class, Pisco Sour Day

Ahhh, the pisco sour. Photo courtesy of Encanto.

Catch cocktailian H. Joseph Ehrmann of Elixir at the San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park on Thursday January 31st for a class on Magnolia Mixology. The magnolia will be the star of the show, and everyone who takes the class will make two cocktails highlighting the lovely flower, and will be gathering fresh herbs for their drinks. Tickets are $125 for the public and $80 for Botanical Garden members (some savory bites are included). 1199 9th Ave. at Martin Luther King, Golden Gate Park.

Here’s a fun international holiday: did you know that the first Saturday of February is Pisco Sour Day? Well, it is, so you’d better raise your glass. ~CANTINA~ will be celebrating with Campo de Encanto pisco sours for $4.99 (there’s a Niners reference there—did you catch it?) from 4pm-9pm on Saturday February 2nd. From 7pm-9pm you can catch some live Peruvian music with some flamenco flair from Guitar Box Story. 580 Sutter St. at Mason, 415-398-0195.
