As fall gets into full swing, wine lovers should make their way to EL RIO on Friday October 19th for what might be the final Mugsy wine bar pop-up of the year. From 5:30pm-8:30pm they’ll be pouring Bayview’s own Gratta Wines, including a new 2011 “garage blend” of Sonoma cabernet, zinfandel, and petite sirah. All the wines are made in Barbara Gratta’s Bayview garage, hence the name. There will also be bubbly and wines from other local cellars, and all glasses will be $7-$8. Don’t forget El Rio offers a finite batch of free oysters at 5:30pm, and homemade piadina (Italian flatbread sandwiches) are also available. 3158 Mission St. at Precita, 415-282-3325.
