100 premier wineries from around the world convene in San Francisco once again for ~WINE & SPIRITS MAGAZINE'S SIXTH ANNUAL TOP 100 EVENT~. Selected by W&S editors, the wineries honored at the event have consistently delivered the best overall performances in the magazine's tastings throughout the year. Hailing from more than 50 winegrowing regions across the globe, the Wineries of the Year will be announced and profiled in the winter issue of W&S, which will be available on newsstands on October 13th, 2009.
Introducing a new component at this year's event, W&S critics will select 10 recently opened Bay Area restaurants whose chefs will showcase their talent and creativity in matching foods to the varied styles of wine. The list includes Il Cane Rosso, RN74, and others. (Attendees will be able to vote on their favorite food and wine pairing, with a report on the favorites in Wine & Spirits.) Local artisanal purveyors will also serve signature specialties.
A portion of the event proceeds will benefit San Francisco Baykeeper.
