Ahhh the Bay Area. Home to so many great movements over the years. A food lover’s Mecca, a hotbed for self-exploration, and of course, let’s not leave out the sexual liberation!
Much like we’ve learned to appreciate all the amazing subtleties of the culinary world from the Slow Food movement, a local organization called OneTaste is bringing mindfulness into the realm of relationships and sexuality with the Slow Sex movement. They teach a practice called Orgasmic Meditation (or OM for short) that focuses on taking your time and appreciating all the stops along the way instead of going for the “quick-and-easy” option or rushing toward an end goal. They offer classes open to both singles and couples!

OneTaste believes Orgasm is much more than a 10-second party. It’s available in all shapes and sizes and is complex, just like the way we experience life. Their teachings integrate the principles of mindfulness with the practice of sexuality through a very simple yet profound 15-minute partnered and intimate practice. No tricks, toys, or techniques required. By nourishing and including this basic and essential part of life, you can discover richer relationships, an embodied sense of self and a feeling of being truly satisfied.
We all know how busy our lives can get. If your intimate life been on the back burner or feeling more like a stop through the drive-thru, this is really something we can’t recommend checking out enough.
OneTaste teaches introductory classes twice a month in its clean, well-lit center right here in San Francisco and is offering a special deal to tablehopper readers for 50% off their upcoming classes using the promo code HOPPER. That’s just $97 to learn the practice of Orgasmic Meditation that Salon magazine calls “the sexy new fad for mindful living.”
Curious? They have intro classes coming up on January 9th, February 6th, and February 27th.
