A Grand Happening of Oregonian Wine, Salumi, Cheese, and More!

On Wednesday March 4th, the Oregon Wine Board is hitting the trail with 55 Oregon wineries, along with their friends at Olympia Provisions, Som Cordials, the Oregon Cheese Guild, and more for a grand happening of Oregonian wine, food, and personality at Oregon Wine Trail San Francisco.

You see, Oregon is a state, and a damn fine one. But Oregonian is a state of mind. You’ve got to experience it to truly get it. Join winemakers and owners representing Oregon’s broad geographic and varietal diversity for an evening evocative of Oregon wine country. We invite you to grab a glass and find your Oregon wine trail.

My good friend and Master Sommelier Evan Goldstein will be hanging with me to share the details on which trail(s) to traverse. Classic Pinots, Diverse Whites, or Bold Reds? Trailblazing Pioneers, Sustainably Grown Wines, or finding that new Unexpected Oregon discovery? There’s a trail for everyone and we can’t wait to point you in the direction that calls to your palate!

After finding your Oregon wine trail, it’s time for some chow! Fortunately, just one block down Rincon Hill is one of my favorite neighborhood gems: Local Kitchen. Chef Nora Haron’s Singapore chicken rice, beef rendang, laksa, and Kerala-style yellow curry await! There’s also their James Beard Blended Burger Project on the menu, vegetarian gado gado, and sourdough pizzas (including a banh mi pizza!). Local Kitchen is kindly offering a free glass of wine (their choice) to anyone who shows their OWT ticket and purchases a main dish or pizza (limit: one glass per person) through the month of March!

I’m going to be heading over at 8:30pm when the tasting wraps up, so if you’d like to join my table, please buy your OWT ticket and then let me know you’d like to join me! We’ll either be dining at the communal table or in the wine room together. We can talk about our favorite wines from the evening! Since it’s a late dinner, and a Wednesday night, this is just going to be a quick bite! (330 1st St. at Folsom.)
