EPIC Steak played host to quite the lineup of pro athletes (and their families) while SB50 took over the city. ~Joe Montana~, along with Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan and Peyton Manning’s father Archie Manning, dined at EPIC Steak on Wednesday, with football icon Tom Brady’s father at the next table over.
Football legends Steve Young and ~Troy Aikman~ enjoyed a party in the private dining room upstairs, and Hall of Famer Jerome Bettis, former pro quarterback Warren Moon, and the number-one draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jameis Winston, were also spotted.
Well, the Niners are rocking the play-offs this year, so it was high time for a good ole ~Joe Montana~ sighting (or two). He was spotted at Jasper’s Corner Tap on Thursday night with his wife and kids, apparently enjoying a sidecar and having a great time.
A reader writes in with a ~Joe Montana~ sighting at Kokkari: “[He] was at Kokkari with wife and another young couple last Thursday night. He was grinning ear to ear when they carried the lamb on the spit past his table. They started the dinner off with Cosmos, and then I forgot to do a walk by and see what they ordered.”
Van Dao, the man behind Biscuit Bender (and the pastry chef at Brenda’s), was serving his biscuits with molten cheddar gravy and wild mushrooms at the Far West Fungi counter, and guess who his first customer was? Yup, ~Joe Montana~ and his wife. (And if that order made you a wee bit hungry, Biscuit Bender will be at there on a semi-regular basis—follow him on Twitter to keep up with him until he lands his brick-and-mortar location in the Mission.)
Whaddya know, it’s yet another ~Joe Montana~ sighting! (He’s out on the town more than me and Willie Brown combined.) Anyway, a reader writes, “Was at Marengo on Union on Saturday night and almost choked on my mint julep when I saw Joe Montana and his gorgeous wife walk into the back bar. He hung out for about an hour and a half. Turns out someone was throwing his daughter a surprise birthday party. I ended up chatting with his wife at the bar and she may have been one of the nicest people I have ever met. Way to go Joe!!”
