Stupid Fun

March 12, 2020

If you’re going to have a star sighting to lighten up the current mood, it may as well be the fabulous Lady Gaga, who mugged for the camera with chef Dominique Crenn (and gave her a cute smooch) in the kitchen of BAR CRENN over the weekend. Gaga reportedly “enjoyed the caviar service with potato, pearl onion, and beurre blanc. She also ordered the Poisson Cru (a Kampachi crudo with picked vegetables) and the Vol-au-Vent aux Legumes (a puffed pastry filled with vegetables and celeriac puree).” [Via SFGate.]

Lady Gaga Hits Wine Country

Love it! Lady Gaga dined at Nick’s Cove Restaurant this past Saturday for lunch with her boyfriend, Taylor Kinney (The Vampire Diaries). My spy says she had the baked oysters Mornay (good choice) and a roast beef and asparagus sandwich. They arrived in an Audi R8 with two bodyguards.

Bite Club Eats mentions she dined later that night at Catelli’s (“Catelli’s co-owner Domenica Catelli has been consulting with Gaga’s parents, Joe and Cynthia Germanotta, on their new Italian restaurant, Joanne, in NYC”), and managed to take on the 10-layer lasagne, kale salad, and rabbit bolognese.

And on Sunday, she went to Sonoma’s the girl & the fig for lunch, dining on “mussels, beet salad, fig salad, a Croque Monsieur with egg, steak frites and a Fig Kiss cocktail late Sunday afternoon. Word is she and Kinney sat at the bar and ordered several cocktails, including a special concoction made with blood oranges.” You can read even more details here.

Lady Gaga Sure Has Interesting Taste

March 29, 2011

And no, I’m not talking about her fashion choices. When Lady Gaga was in town last week, she dined on oysters and lobster at The Waterfront Restaurant (her second time back). She took over the top floor with her small entourage. Comments reportedly ranged from them treating everyone so nicely to how smashing she looks in person…

Even funnier, the Examiner picked up on rumors that she came into The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen, and the staff didn’t even know she was there. According to a post from owner Heidi Gibson on their Facebook page, “We all work so hard during our rushes, that we weren’t even aware that she was here. We were notified by numerous tweets, emails, and customers coming to tell us that she was here. It was an honor.”

Lady Gaga's Idea of Monster Ballin' Around Town

August 31, 2010

That Lady Gaga, so unpredictable! According to this post from Leah Garchik, she dined at the Waterfront restaurant.

Well, that’s one place to be low profile; and according to this posting on Mission Mission, she also swung by Rosamunde in the Mission last week. To be honest, the lady in the pic looks muuuuuuch more like a tranny you’d see at Esta Noche (Bienvenidos to the stage, “Dama Gaga!”). That’s where I’d tuck my dollar bills if I had to bet on it. Anyway.

More Gaga on the Go

December 22, 2009

More Lady Gaga sightings from last week: she was at The St. Regis San Francisco lobby bar on Monday afternoon with a posse of four. She was dressed as herself (i.e. not like this) and was wearing a black hat.

Another source tells me Lady Gaga’s band members were spotted having lunch at Waterbar “without their leading lady, sporting ripped jeans, t-shirts, funky hats, and wild haircuts, while noshing on wood-oven roasted lobster, grilled Dungeness crab, grilled sirloin steak, oysters, chowder and tuna tartare. They shared everything.”

Bottega is Like One Big Red Carpet

December 15, 2009

Considering the lineup of stars BOTTEGA has managed to attract in one week, I’d say it’s our Wine Country version of Spago or Nobu. Marci V., a tablehopper reader, wrote in to let me know she saw David Beckham and his posh wife, Victoria Beckham, along with their children. I heard the kids got to make pasta with the chefs, and everyone was very nice. I also learned Marisa Tomei was at the restaurant’s one-year anniversary. And just this Sunday, tablehoppin’ reader Zachary P. spotted Lady Gaga in for lunch! She was with one other guest, and the kitchen prepared a four-course menu for them, including crudo, burrata with 20-year balsamic “caviar,” a gnocchi duo, and Piemontese beef with white truffle. She was reportedly very low key and chill.
