Last Friday October 25th, ~MAVERICK~ tragically suffered a major fire, and it looks like it’s going to be awhile until they can get back on their feet. SF Appeal reports there are an estimated $400,000 in damages. Best wishes to the team (and the renters upstairs)—fortunately no one was hurt.
Also in the Mission: I received word from Chris Kronner last week that he’s wrapping up his KRONNERBURGER pop-up at Bruno’s (gosh darn it!), serving his last burger there on November 22nd. The reason? He’s about 95 percent locked on a permanent Oakland location (which he tells me is off Piedmont Avenue), so it’s time to close up shop. What this means is you better get your Kronnerburger on while you can, although he does seem to hold pop-ups around town here and there, so don’t fret.
