We ran an in-depth preview of the French (and Scandinavian-influenced) modern brasserie cuisine of VOLTA last week, and we’re happy to report the restaurant is now softly open for lunch and dinner. You can come by for lunch from 11:30am-2:30pm and dinner 5:30pm-10pm nightly. (It’s worth noting they are open on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, but closed on Christmas.)
So if you’re running downtown for some last-minute shopping, here’s where you’ll want to take a load off and sit in one of their modern gray flannel chairs or beckoning booths (and yes, there’s a bar with cocktails from bar manager Zachary Gray). The soft gray French oak, soothing blue tiled floor, and airy feeling will all make you feel relaxed and at ease, and then there’s the buttery potato purée and boeuf bourguignon that will seal the deal. Enjoy. 868 Mission St. at 5th St., 628-400-6200.
