Pacifica, welcome to the wild and wooly world of wine bars. Celebrating its grand opening on Saturday October 16th is A GRAPE IN THE FOG, opened in September just a few steps from Rockaway Beach. Owner Beth Lemke offers a selection of nearly 30 wines, craft beers, and plates of cheeses, charcuterie, and more. The grand opening on the 16th will have live music, wine, and food from 4pm-10pm if you live in the neighborhood and want to swing by. The wine bar seats up to 50, with room for 20 on the outdoor patio.

Fun factoid: Lemke’s great aunt Mona Nystrom-Hood (formerly Mona Sargent) ran the famed lesbian bar, Mona’s Club 440, in North Beach in the 1930s and 40s. Open Wed-Thu 3pm-10pm, Fri-Sat 3pm-12am, Sun 2pm-8pm. 400 Old County Rd., Pacifica, 650-735-5854.
