Mark Bright Has a New Café, Wine Bar, and Wine Shop Opening in SoMa

Mark Bright just isn’t busy enough these days as wine director and co-owner of Saison, a partner in Vinyl on Divis, and traveling around the world for his wine investment fund and brokerage. ABC license activity points to a new project named BALANCE, which is going to be his café and wine bar in the former Gluten Free Grocery. Eater mentions his plans include serving breakfast and coffee, lunch, and wine bar-friendly bites into the evening, along with “a selection of top-notch vintages by the glass or bottle, emphasizing both Burgundy wines (Bright’s area of specialty) and small-production domestic offerings” (wine classes are also in the works).
